United introduces exclusive Polaris ice cream sundae – The Points Guy

If your future travels involve flying in United Polaris business class, be sure to bring your sweet tooth.

The Chicago-based airline is enhancing its renowned ice cream sundae offering with a new, limited-time dessert called the “United Polaris x Tillamook Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Sundae.”

This new sundae choice is offered until July 31 as a part of the dessert service for passengers in United Polaris business class on international long-haul flights.

The premium seats: United introduces enhanced Polaris experience featuring new sleep-centric amenities.

United mentions that this sundae is inspired by the season’s popularity of strawberries, with people incorporating them into matcha lattes and drawing inspiration from them for their makeup styles.

In collaboration, United is providing detailed guidelines to its flight attendants on how to assemble the ideal strawberry shortcake sundae. This entails:

Since the sundaes are prepared at your seat, you can request as much or as little of each topping as you prefer. Additionally, United’s other plated desserts, along with the signature fruit and cheese plate, will still be available as alternative choices for a post-dinner dessert.

Offering ice cream sundaes as a conclusion to a business-class meal has developed into a customary practice among U.S. airlines. Over the years, American Airlines has collaborated with Haagen Dazs to craft delicious sundaes in flight. It’s important to point out that American Airlines does not provide a sundae cart; instead, the crew prepares the sundae in the galley based on your request.

Delta also provides ice cream in the business-class section on long-duration flights; however, the airline often changes the selection, and classic sundaes are not consistently available.

United additionally provides ice cream in the Premium Plus cabin on extended flights, though it does not include its well-known sundae service in this class.
