ROMER HOUSE WAIKIKI

Throughout the 179 rooms, guests are meant to experience the ambiance of a Hawaiian apartment, featuring various textures, wooden details, local photography on the walls, and in-room amenities such as coffee, a kettle, and a mini-fridge.

In certain rooms, you might even have access to your own private lanai, allowing you to step outside and enjoy the salty ocean breeze.

The hotel features an entire collection of local art dedicated to the beauty of Hawaii, its islands, people, and culture, not just in the rooms but throughout the premises. Keep an eye out for works by surf photographer Arto Saari and murals by Matías Solario and Cory Kamehanaokala, among others, dispersed throughout the hotel.

For entertainment, visit The Backyard pool and bar where you can relax in a chair to tan, take a dip in the heated wading pool, or savor some Japanese-Hawaiian cuisine and drinks (such as katsu sandwiches or bento boxes accompanied by canned sake). Arrive for the food, but linger for the wellness classes on the pool deck.

You can also enjoy food and drinks at Izakaya 855-Aloha, created by chef Shotaro “Sho” Kamio. Designed for late-night visits, Romer’s izakaya blends the culinary flavors and techniques of Japan and Hawaii. It features shareable dishes such as Tokyo hot chicken, takoyaki, tempura, and offers a robust selection of Japanese whiskeys and sakes.
