Although information is currently sparse, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is slated to introduce two new lounges in 2026, contributing to what is arguably becoming the finest terminal in the United States for lounge offerings.
Plaza Premium First Lounge set to arrive at DFW (and more)!
In early 2026, Plaza Premium is set to launch two lounges at DFW Airport Terminal D. These lounges are anticipated to be situated near gate D17, and the facility will feature both a regular Plaza Premium Lounge and a Plaza Premium First Lounge. I believe that Plaza Premium’s lounge facilities rank among the top “contract” lounges you can find, though that’s admittedly not a very high standard.
I would expect the standard Plaza Premium Lounge to offer all the amenities you would anticipate, such as a buffet, open bar, and more. Meanwhile, Plaza Premium First is the lounge operator’s high-end lounge concept, which typically boasts much more sophisticated decor, a la carte dining, barista coffee, and additional perks.
The standard Plaza Premium Lounge will likely be accessible for holders of the Amex Platinum Card (as well as some other premium cards), and it will serve as a contract lounge for select airlines. Additionally, the Plaza Premium First Lounge may be contracted by certain premium airlines as well and, otherwise, will probably be available for a co-pay on top of access to the standard lounge.
This will mark the debut of the Plaza Premium First Lounge in the United States, which is quite thrilling. The only other one in North America is located in Vancouver (YVR), which recently opened. I will make sure to update you when we receive further information.
Interestingly, Plaza Premium’s first-ever lounge in the United States is also at DFW (though in Terminal E), which opened in 2020. However, at merely 1,400 square feet, it must be among the tiniest airport lounges you’ll find throughout the United States.
DFW Terminal D is evolving into a lounge powerhouse
You can’t help but admire what a lounge powerhouse Terminal D at DFW is becoming. On the credit card side, the terminal features an Amex Centurion Lounge, a Capital One Lounge, and soon a Chase Sapphire Lounge. Additionally, there’s an American Flagship Lounge and American Admirals Club, plus The Club at DFW. Now it will also have a Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium First Lounge.
This creates a truly impressive lounge presence, and I can’t think of many airport terminals in the United States with such a remarkable lounge footprint. Perhaps New York (JFK) Terminal 4 and Los Angeles (LAX) Tom Bradley International Terminal? But even that’s debatable…
Bottom line
Lounge operator Plaza Premium intends to establish two lounges in DFW Terminal D, featuring the country’s first Plaza Premium First Lounge. It’s wonderful to see Terminal D gain even more lounge options, not that there was any lack of lounges to begin with. I am eager to hear more details, but it appears we won’t have to wait much longer.
What are your thoughts on Plaza Premium’s plans for DFW?
