Air France Unveils New Lounge Featuring Spa at London Heathrow

New Air France Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 4

In the spring of 2026, Air France is set to unveil a new lounge at Terminal 4 of Heathrow Airport. The lounge will span approximately 750 square meters (8,070 square feet) and accommodate 150 visitors. It will feature a dining section with a buffet, in addition to a bar offering a variety of French wines and champagnes. Furthermore, the lounge will include designated spa services, relaxation zones, and workspaces. This is quite remarkable for an outstation lounge.

So far, only a single rendering of the upcoming lounge has been released.

Air France indicates that the lounge will adhere to the standard SkyTeam lounge access policies, which means it will be accessible to SkyTeam first and business class travelers, alongside SkyTeam Elite Plus members.

This is an excellent enhancement to Air France’s lounge network

From a strategic standpoint, London Heathrow is undeniably a crucial market for nearly every airline that operates there. This is especially pertinent considering that British Airways has its base at Heathrow, positioning it as a significant rival to Air France. Therefore, it makes sense to want to provide an exceptional lounge experience at a competitor’s hub.

Among lounges managed by European airlines, it’s clear that Air France excels in providing quality service. It’s exciting to note that the lounge will feature a spa, and I also suspect that there will be specific services tailored for La Premiere (first class) travelers, as is customary in lounges operated by Air France.

Presently, Air France directs its premium passengers to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4, so this will represent a substantial enhancement to the overall experience. Interestingly, there used to be a two-level SkyTeam Lounge, which has since been replaced by a single-level Plaza Premium Lounge and the new Saudia Lounge on the alternate level.

The Saudia Lounge at London Heathrow is also a recent addition

I’m curious, does anyone have information on which space Air France is utilizing for this lounge? I can only speculate that it’s a repurposing of an existing lounge area, but I can’t pinpoint which space might be available. Will the Plaza Premium Lounge simply undergo rebranding as the Air France Lounge, given its comparable size, or…?

Final thoughts

In the spring of 2026, Air France will be launching a lounge at London Heathrow Airport. This lounge is projected to be around 750 square meters, providing seating for approximately 150 guests. It’s great to witness Air France establishing its own facility at the airport, which should bode well for SkyTeam travelers overall. I eagerly await more information as the opening date draws near.

What are your thoughts on the plans for the Air France Lounge at London Heathrow?
