Marriott International has revealed its intentions to launch its inaugural EDITION hotel in Africa, situated in the renowned V&A Waterfront of Cape Town. The Cape Town EDITION is slated to open in 2026, boasting 142 guest rooms and suites, dining venues including a rooftop bar, a wellness spa, pool, and conference facilities. Additionally, the project will feature six exclusive residences. Crafted by Shanghai’s Neri & Hu in partnership with local firm StudioMAS, the hotel will provide vistas of the Atlantic Ocean, City Bowl, Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, and Signal Hill. This new development is anticipated to elevate Cape Town’s luxury hotel landscape, offering a points-based high-end option in a market that is currently led by independent establishments and small hotel groups.
