**Rosewood Enters the Courchevel 1850 Hotel Market**
Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin has officially opened its doors as of December 2025. Nestled in the French Alps, the hotel occupies a prime location in Courchevel 1850 (with 1850 indicating the altitude in meters).
The establishment boasts 51 guest rooms and suites, encompassing three signature houses. The entry-level offerings are deluxe rooms, which range from 25-36 square meters (270-388 square feet) and come with a terrace. On the other end of the spectrum, the signature houses are the most luxurious accommodations, accommodating up to eight guests and measuring 178 square meters (1,916 square feet). The property asserts that it has the most extensive suite inventory in Courchevel’s Le Jardin Alpin.
Guests at the Rosewood can enjoy ski-in ski-out access to the Les Trois Vallées, supported by a ski concierge to assist with all arrangements.
Additionally, the property features a signature Asaya Spa, a wellness center with an indoor pool, a kids club, and a cigar lounge. For dining, the establishment includes SALTO, offering a restaurant, bar, and lounge, with a menu inspired by the culinary delights of Northern Italy’s Alps.
This property represents the transformation of a previous establishment, under the design direction of French designer Tristan Auer. The goal is to present a fresh perspective on contemporary alpine luxury, merging the magnificence of the French Alps with Rosewood’s design ethos.
Radha Arora, Rosewood’s President, has stated:
“Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin marks a significant milestone for the brand as our first undertaking in alpine hospitality, located in one of the globe’s most esteemed ski destinations. This opening reinforces Rosewood’s role at the forefront of destination-centered hospitality, providing our guests with an opportunity for exploration in the most sought-after location of Le Jardin Alpin.”
This marks Rosewood’s inaugural property in the French Alps and its second in continental France, following Hôtel de Crillon Paris, a Rosewood Hotel.
**Rosewood Courchevel Rates & Booking Information**
Courchevel is a seasonal destination, with the Rosewood operating from mid-December through early April annually.
I’ll be straightforward — Courchevel is quite expensive, but the hotels offer an exceptional experience. This is not about spending a significant amount to stay in a resort where you feel like just another guest. On the contrary, properties in Courchevel are high-priced but equally provide outstanding service and features.
Currently, rates at the Rosewood Courchevel range from €2,300 to €2,900 per night for standard accommodations. Discounts are seldom available, and many Courchevel hotels often operate with a waitlist for availability.
It’s advisable to book Rosewood properties through a Rosewood Elite travel advisor, as this is typically the most advantageous deal. This incurs no additional cost, and a Rosewood Elite agent can offer added perks for your stay. What benefits can a Rosewood Elite travel advisor provide?
– Daily breakfast for two guests per room
– Complimentary one-category room upgrade at check-in (subject to availability)
– A welcome amenity and personalized note
– Additional property-specific elite enhanced amenities, which may vary; these could include a $100 credit per stay
A couple of additional notes:
– Rosewood Elite perks can be combined with any promotion that Rosewood is running on its website, including the opening offer
– Booking through Rosewood Elite is more beneficial than going through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts®, as upgrades are prioritized within Rosewood’s own exclusive program
**Courchevel’s Hotel Landscape is Unparalleled**
While I’d argue that more hotel offerings in Courchevel is advantageous, Rosewood is up against some tough competition.
I’d contend that the finest hotel in Courchevel is Les Airelles Courchevel, which is my preferred ski property globally (and possibly one of my top hotels, period — Airelles is a truly remarkable hotel brand). One of the appealing aspects of Les Airelles is the availability of half board or full board rates that allow dining at many of the town’s premier restaurants.
Beyond that, there are also Cheval Blanc Courchevel, L’Apogée Courchevel (part of Oetker Collection), Aman Le Mélézin Courchevel, Le K2 Palace Courchevel, etc. For those interested in points, Six Senses Courchevel is also available, but it consists solely of residences, hence not a “proper” hotel.
You won’t encounter such a dense concentration of ultra-luxury hotels anywhere else globally.
