Encountering Starlink Wi-Fi on My Inaugural Flight: A Groundbreaking Transformation
We recently had the chance to fly Air France business class from Miami (MIA) to Paris (CDG) and then to Geneva (GVA). While our son’s outstanding behavior was a highlight, another significant part of the journey was trying Starlink Wi-Fi for the first time.

On our flight from Paris to Geneva aboard an Air France Airbus A220-300, I connected to the inflight Wi-Fi. I knew that Air France had started installing Starlink on certain aircraft, including the A220s, but I didn’t anticipate encountering it on this trip. After accessing the portal, I was asked to log in using my Flying Blue account details. Once connected, I discovered I was using Starlink, which was a delightful surprise.

The flight was brief, but I succeeded in performing a speed test, and the results were remarkable. Starlink delivered Wi-Fi speeds similar to those at home, a notable upgrade over other inflight options like Viasat. Additionally, Starlink Wi-Fi remains free for passengers, elevating the overall travel experience.

This experience was extraordinary, and while the advantage was limited on a short flight, on longer journeys, Starlink Wi-Fi could influence the choice of airline. Regardless of any personal views about Elon Musk, the service is undeniably advantageous for travelers.

In conclusion, experiencing Starlink Wi-Fi during a flight was as impressive as expected. The blend of high-speed and free access revolutionizes inflight entertainment and productivity, making it a valuable enhancement to air travel. If you’ve had the chance to use Starlink Wi-Fi on a flight, how was your experience?
