Alaska Airlines is greatly progressing in enhancing its global presence from its hub at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), with ambitions to operate a dozen long-haul destinations by 2030. This bold expansion is supported by the acquisition of Boeing 787 Dreamliners from Hawaiian Airlines, as both airlines are now united under the Alaska Air Group.
Earlier this year, Alaska Airlines introduced its new Dreamliner livery and committed to delivering an upgraded onboard experience. The airline has now disclosed details about its International Business Class Suites, which will be available on these long-haul routes. The main feature remains the Elevate Ascent seat, akin to those utilized on Hawaiian’s 787-9s, as well as on the latest 787-9s from American and United.
The updated business class service includes improved dining options, beginning with a welcome offering that features a cheese & charcuterie platter alongside a selection of wines, cocktails, craft beers, and coffee. The meal service proceeds with an appetizer and a customizable main course with up to six options, tailored to each specific route. A dessert cart offering customizable sundaes and a meal inspired by the destination before arrival rounds out the dining experience.
For added comfort, Alaska Airlines is introducing bedding crafted in collaboration with Filson, which includes a luxurious mattress, pillows, and duvet. Collectible amenity kits in Filson hues will contain Salt & Stone skincare products and other necessities, along with a reusable water bottle from PATH Water.
Furthermore, Alaska Airlines plans to implement Starlink on these aircraft by fall 2027, improving connectivity for passengers. This new business class experience is consistent with Alaska’s brand and presents a competitive offering for long-haul travelers.
