In 2022, the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection was introduced. While this may appear to be Marriott or Ritz-Carlton’s foray into the cruise industry, it is essentially a licensing agreement. Still, this is quite an extraordinary offering, and the hotel aspect is intriguing. Meanwhile, we have witnessed similar initiatives from Four Seasons, Aman, and Orient Express.
You can not only earn and redeem Bonvoy points for itineraries with the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, but this also stands as a high-quality product that competes with leading cruise lines.
I recently experienced my first journey with Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, aboard Evrima, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. In this article, I aim to provide a broader overview of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection for those interested.
I haven’t thoroughly examined the cruise line since its inception, and in that time, its fleet has expanded from one to three vessels. Therefore, in this post, I want to delve deeper into the current status of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, covering details about the ships, inclusions, itineraries, and more.
What are the ships of Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection like?
Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection currently comprises three ships, with one being significantly smaller than the other two:
– Evrima is the initial ship, constructed in 2021; it weighs 25,400 tons, measures 624 feet in length, and comprises 149 suites that can host 298 guests.
– Ilma is the second vessel, built in 2024; it weighs 46,750 tons, spans 791 feet, and includes 224 suites suitable for 448 guests.
– Luminara is the third ship, created in 2025; it also weighs 46,750 tons, is 790 feet long, and features 226 suites accommodating 452 guests.
These vessels are still classified as cruise ships (it’s somewhat of a stretch to refer to them as “yachts”), although they are on the boutique side compared to what is typical in the industry today.
If you desire a more personal cruising experience, you will certainly want to choose Evrima over Ilma or Luminara, although preferences vary, and the larger ships offer the advantage of more expansive pool areas and additional amenities.
Even with their smaller dimensions, these ships boast numerous amenities. For instance, regarding Evrima:
– The ship offers various dining options, including The Evrima Room (the main all-day dining venue), S.E.A. (the specialty restaurant at an extra fee), Talaat Nam (a Southeast Asian dining option), The Pool House (an informal all-day dining place), Mistral (a Mediterranean eatery), and The Living Room (serving drinks and snacks).
– The ship features a Ritz-Carlton Spa complete with five treatment rooms, a beauty lounge, a men’s grooming salon, a sauna, a steam room, a relaxation space, and a 24/7 fitness center.
– The ship includes a range of other facilities, such as a marina and marina terrace, a pool with whirlpools, a kids club, a smoking lounge, and an observation lounge.
What are the suites like at Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection?
Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection promotes all its accommodations as suites, each featuring an ocean view and an outdoor terrace.
In Evrima, the entry-level accommodations are the Terrace Suites, which offer 300 square feet of indoor space and 54-81 square feet of outdoor space. Meanwhile, the top suite is the Owner’s Suite, presenting 1,091 square feet of interior space and 635 square feet of exterior space.
While all accommodations are quite spacious, some might argue that 300 square feet isn’t particularly large.
Where do Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection cruises travel?
As is typical for many luxury, non-explorer cruise lines, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection usually sails in the Caribbean during winter and in Europe during summer, although there is some variation. Itineraries are weekly, and you can view all sailings here.
To explore by region, find Alaska voyages here, Asia voyages here, Caribbean voyages here, Mediterranean voyages here, Northern Europe and Baltic voyages here, South Pacific voyages here, and crossing voyages here. Most journeys last between five to 11 nights, although a few are shorter or longer.
Overall, I appreciate the growing number of itineraries that do not include the Caribbean or Mediterranean.
As the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection expands, we are observing more captivating itineraries as
