In a revolutionary initiative, Virgin Atlantic has revealed its collaboration with SpaceX to implement Starlink Wi-Fi throughout its entire fleet. This program will deliver complimentary high-speed internet to all members of Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club, allowing travelers to connect various devices including laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Starlink’s low-latency broadband service will be accessible from gate to gate, facilitating activities such as live streaming, gaming, and online shopping.

Virgin Atlantic intends to outfit its Airbus A330neos, Airbus A350s, and Boeing 787s with Starlink Wi-Fi, while the soon-to-be-retired Airbus A330ceos will be excluded from this update. This decision is in line with a growing pattern among airlines, as carriers like Aer Lingus, airBaltic, Air France, and several others also embrace Starlink.

Juha Jaervinen, Chief Customer Officer at Virgin Atlantic, highlighted the airline’s dedication to delivering a connected experience, stating, “We’re establishing a new benchmark for connectivity in the skies.”

The rollout, initially slated for late 2026, has been expedited. Installation will begin in May 2026, with all A350s anticipated to be equipped with the service by early summer 2026. The Boeing 787s will follow suit, with two-thirds of the fleet ready by the end of 2026. The remaining A330neos are projected to receive the service in 2027, bringing the project to completion.

This advancement represents a major leap toward establishing free high-speed Wi-Fi as an industry standard, enhancing the in-flight experience for Virgin Atlantic travelers.
