Southwest Airlines has introduced a new special livery to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The Boeing 737 MAX 8, designated Independence One, showcases a red, white, and blue color scheme featuring “1776” in quill script and the phrase “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” from the Declaration of Independence on its fuselage, 13 stars symbolizing the original colonies, and a circle of stars on each engine cowling that pays homage to the Betsy Ross flag. Its registration number is N1776R, and it displays an “America250” decal. This aircraft is a part of Southwest’s patriotic fleet, joining Freedom One and Liberty One, both embellished with themes of the American flag. Southwest CEO Bob Jordan highlighted the airline’s dedication to honoring this national milestone and fostering community connections.
