World of Hyatt has recently revealed considerable modifications to its award pricing, upholding a published award chart while broadening the pricing range. This indicates that award stays during peak seasons will now incur higher costs than ever. In conjunction with these modifications, Hyatt has rolled out some favorable updates, such as early access to award night availability for select members, set to take effect later this year.
Commencing June 30, 2026, World of Hyatt will permit select members, including those holding a co-branded Hyatt credit card, along with World of Hyatt Explorist and Globalist members, to reserve award nights as much as 13 months in advance. This extends the current 12-month reservation window. However, Discoverist members will not be eligible for this benefit.
This adjustment is especially advantageous for securing award stays during peak seasons, like New Year’s Eve at the Park Hyatt Sydney or Cherry Blossom season at the Park Hyatt Kyoto. Nonetheless, these peak stays will now require up to 75,000 points per night, marking a considerable rise from the former maximum of 45,000 points per night.
While the extension of the booking period is a positive shift for those who prepare ahead, it is not deemed a significant game changer. Additionally, World of Hyatt intends to implement streamlined points sharing among members later this year, although a specific date has yet to be provided.
