American Airlines Unveils Inaugural Lounge with Barista-Prepared Coffee
In August 2025, American Airlines unveiled its Provisions by Admirals Club concept at Charlotte (CLT), a grab & go lounge tailored for Admirals Club members, particularly for brief connections. Recently, American has rolled out the identical concept at New York Kennedy (JFK), which seems to be more striking, showcasing a barista bar for the first time in any of its lounges, serving Lavazza crafted beverages. Situated in Concourse B between gates 12 and 14, the 3,700 square foot area focuses on flow, flexibility, and efficiency, offering premium food and drink choices for travelers on the move.

Drawing inspiration from the vibrancy of New York City, the lounge’s design includes local touches, creating an exceptional ambiance. The culinary selections feature both hot and cold grab & go options, with breakfast served until 11 AM and all-day selections following. Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, emphasizes the lounge’s capacity to keep pace with customers’ travel needs, providing a flexible experience with enhanced beverages and quick access to fresh offerings.

Although JFK may not be the perfect location for a grab & go lounge, due to its emphasis on international travel, the new facility gives Admirals Club members a practical choice in Concourse B, where there is no Admirals Club present. This new concept marks a considerable improvement over the Charlotte facility, including barista coffee and a more thoughtful design. The addition of barista coffee is a welcomed enhancement, and the new lounge at JFK signifies a small victory for American Airlines in improving customer experience.
