Lufthansa Unveils Opulent Business Class Dining, Mandates Bathroom Locking Procedure

Lufthansa has recently improved its business class catering, resulting in a distinct operational adjustment on several of its aircraft. The airline now restricts access to a business class lavatory during meal service on specific planes, such as the Boeing 787. This choice arises from the necessity for more space in the forward galley, where the crew concentrates on enhancing meal presentation. The forward galley is not particularly large, and with the new catering strategy requiring additional plating and garnishing efforts, the crew requires extra room to operate efficiently. As a result, one of the two business class lavatories is temporarily unavailable to passengers during this period. Although this may appear to be an inconvenience, it aligns with the airline’s pledge to elevate the overall dining experience. Passengers are generally directed to the rear lavatories during the meal service, and Lufthansa indicates no major complaints regarding this policy. This modification underscores the airline’s commitment to improving its onboard service, even if it necessitates altering other facets of the passenger experience.
