Cathay Pacific Unveils New A330 Aria Studio Flat Bed for Regional Business Class
In February 2026, Cathay Pacific officially introduced its latest regional business class offering, dubbed the Aria Studio. This innovative product is intended to supplant the airline’s existing regional service, which has been considered less competitive in the industry. The airline has revealed additional information about the Aria Studio, including a dedicated webpage and a new video highlighting its features.

Designed to elevate the regional business class journey, Cathay Pacific’s Aria Studio boasts a reverse herringbone seat arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, presenting a slightly more compact version than the Aria Suite utilized on long-haul routes, minus the privacy doors. The seats are outfitted with an enclosed storage area featuring a vanity, specific laptop storage, wireless charging capabilities, a pivoting 4K entertainment screen, and Bluetooth audio.

The Aria Studio is projected to be retrofitted onto many of the current A330-300s by late 2026 and will begin installation on newly acquired A330-900neos from 2028 onwards. However, not every existing A330 will undergo the upgrade, as older aircraft are planned for retirement. The new seating will not be available on A321neos or regional 777s, which are also due for retirement.

At present, Cathay Pacific’s regional A330 business class includes recliner seats in a 2-2-2 arrangement, which provide limited comfort for lounging or sleeping. The launch of the Aria Studio seeks to standardize the A330 fleet and enhance the passenger experience.

Cathay Pacific is acknowledged as a premier airline, but its regional business class offerings have fallen short in comparison to rivals like Singapore Airlines and Starlux Airlines, which feature flat beds on their entire fleet. The new Aria Studio will represent a substantial improvement, delivering a more competitive and comfortable choice for regional passengers.

To summarize, the new Aria Studio regional business class from Cathay Pacific will be a valuable enhancement to the airline’s services, offering travelers a more luxurious and comfortable experience on regional flights.
