As overcrowding continues to be a significant concern for airport lounges, we’ve witnessed the emergence of more innovative lounge ideas. Specifically, the rise of grab & go lounges has taken hold, designed for those who are pressed for time and prefer to quickly pick up a drink and snack rather than linger in a lounge for long durations.
In that vein, it appears that airport lounge operator Airport Dimensions (which oversees “The Club” lounges) is embracing this trend, having launched its very first grab & go lounge in the United States.
Atlanta Airport unveils new grab & go lounge concept
Airport Dimensions has officially opened Poppin at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), marking the lounge operator’s debut grab & go lounge concept. Poppin is situated adjacent to The Club ATL, located airside in Concourse F, at the mezzanine level.
The lounge is operational daily from 11AM to 10PM, thus featuring more restricted hours compared to The Club. It allows access up to 2.5 hours before flight departure and provides a selection of beverages and snacks including sandwiches, salads, fruits, snacks, desserts, and ice cream, alongside soft drinks, coffee, beer, and cider. Patrons have the option to take their selections with them, though seating is limited.
Poppin is accessible via Priority Pass, giving guests the choice between visiting The Club ATL or Poppin, though they can only enter one of the two lounges with the same Priority Pass membership.
This presents a significant advantage for Priority Pass members
It’s true that not every airport lounge meets the same standard, and there are notable differences among first-class lounges, business-class lounges, and Priority Pass lounges, etc.
Access to lounges has become significantly more inclusive over the years, which is largely positive. However, the fundamental value of lounges has altered dramatically as a result. Previously, lounges served as quiet retreats for relaxation or work. Nowadays, they tend to be some of the most crowded areas in airports (often featuring lines to enter), leaning heavily toward food and drink consumption.
While many fantastic lounges still exist, the typical Priority Pass lounge in the United States can be rather disappointing. Honestly, when traveling domestically, I often look for a calm area in the terminal where I can sit, finding that more enjoyable than being in an overly packed lounge.
In my view, these grab & go lounges provide an ideal balance. Even when I’m not in a rush, I would rather grab a drink and a snack and locate a quiet gate area than spend a lengthy time in a crowded lounge, provided I can even gain entry. I hope this concept gains traction.
From an economic standpoint, these lounges seem to be mutually beneficial. It’s likely that grab & go lounges can serve many more customers than traditional lounges, given the flow of individuals passing through. The profit margins remain intact, as the lounge operator continues to earn revenue for each person utilizing the lounge.

Airport Dimensions has launched Poppin at Atlanta Airport, positioned directly beside The Club ATL. The idea revolves around this being a grab & go lounge, where Priority Pass members can freely take drinks and snacks, offering an alternative to the conventional lounge atmosphere.
Considering the current state of airport lounges, characterized by numerous waitlists, I believe these types of facilities are a welcome positive addition, and I hope this trend becomes more widespread.
