Emirates Unveils New Premium Economy Seat, Possibly the Finest in the World
Emirates has recently introduced what it posits as the world’s first electrically powered premium economy seat, equipped with full-height adjustable privacy screens. This innovative seat marks a notable advancement for the airline, which only launched its premium economy class in 2022. The seat provides 39 inches of pitch and 20 inches of width, reclining into a cradle position without impacting the row positioned behind.

The privacy screen of the seat can be adjusted up or down using electric controls, offering passengers added flexibility. Moreover, the seat comes with Emirates’ U-Dream headrest, crafted for customizable neck and head support. The cabin will also incorporate wireless charging, USB-C ports, and 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen displays.

These new seats will make their debut on the Airbus A350, featuring a cabin configuration of 28 seats arranged across four rows in a 2-3-2 setup. However, there are currently no intentions to retrofit existing A380s or 777s with this new offering, as they will continue to use the former generation of premium economy seats. Nevertheless, Emirates’ new premium economy seat establishes a high benchmark in the industry, blending cutting-edge technology with improved comfort.
