New Alaska Lounge and Aurora Lounge Launching in Seattle
Alaska Airlines has revealed an ambitious enhancement of its passenger experience options, emphasizing high-end services. A major highlight is the launch of a new dual-section lounge at Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA), scheduled to open in late 2027. This will be the airline’s most extensive and luxurious lounge, covering 41,000 square feet with capacity for about 700 visitors. The lounge will be situated in Concourse C and will feature two levels with specific entry criteria.

The primary level, referred to as the Alaska Lounge, will host 500 guests and will be open to Alaska Lounge members, day pass purchasers, and qualified first-class travelers. The upper level, designated as the Aurora Lounge, will serve international long-haul passengers, business class travelers, and Atmos Rewards Titanium members, accommodating 200 guests. The Aurora Lounge might also adhere to oneworld lounge access policies for high-tier passengers and Emerald members.

The lounge complex will provide vistas of the Olympic Mountains and the runway, an outdoor patio with a fireplace, private work areas, seasonal dining options, a pizza oven, a coffee lab, fresh baked goods, and several bars serving cocktails, wine, and beer. The Aurora Lounge will feature shower suites, wellness areas, and made-to-order meals with à la carte dining and tableside service.

This initiative supports Alaska Airlines’ worldwide expansion objectives, which involve operating 12 long-haul routes from Seattle by 2030. The new lounge arrangement is anticipated to compete with or exceed the facilities offered by rivals such as Delta’s lounge complex in Seattle. Overall, Alaska Airlines is making substantial investments to improve its passenger experience, especially for high-end travelers.
