**The Cormorant at 55 South: The World’s Southernmost Hotel**

Luxury cruise company Silversea, part of the Royal Caribbean Group, has inaugurated a new hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, called The Cormorant at 55 South. Promoted as the planet’s southernmost hotel, this distinctive venue features 150 accommodations and a variety of dining choices, including the main restaurant Latitude 55, Bar Sur, and the Fireplace Lounge. Guests can also take advantage of a 24/7 fitness center and various exploration activities such as sea kayaking and birdwatching.

Nevertheless, the hotel is not open for individual reservations. It is exclusively accessible to guests participating in Silversea’s Antarctica Fly Cruise program. This program provides a more efficient way to experience Antarctica by flying from Santiago to Puerto Williams, enjoying a night at the hotel, and subsequently flying to Antarctica to embark on the cruise. This method bypasses the turbulent waters of the Drake Passage and offers itineraries as brief as six days.

Silversea’s dedication to the Antarctica market is apparent with three vessels operating in the area, providing 40 voyages, including 29 Fly Cruise options. The cruises last between six to 21 nights, stopping at locations such as South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.

The Cormorant at 55 South signifies a notable investment by Silversea, increasing the allure of their Antarctic journeys. While the hotel captivates from a geographical perspective, it remains a distinctive experience linked to a Silversea cruise package.
