In early 2025, we informally discovered a forthcoming site for the Amex Centurion Lounge network, as indicated by public documents from the airport. The card issuer has now formally declared this location, providing us with additional details. The unfortunate news is that considerable patience will be necessary before its opening.
An Amex Centurion Lounge is under construction in Terminal C at Boston Logan Airport (BOS). Initially set to debut in 2027, the timeline has regrettably been extended by two years, pushing the anticipated opening to 2029 at best.
The airport is tasked with constructing the lounge’s shell, while Amex will be responsible for outfitting the interior. As expected, Amex bears the total expense of the project, since this expansion is solely aimed at establishing this lounge.
For those unfamiliar, Centurion Lounges are among the premier lounges accessible to holders of the American Express Platinum Card® and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. For many cardmembers, lounge access is a highly appreciated benefit.
This is one of two upcoming Centurion Lounges in the United States, with another planned for Newark (EWR), expected to open this year. This does not include the Sidecar by Centurion Lounge concept, which is also set for Charlotte (CLT).
This will mark the second lounge at the airport operated by a credit card issuer, with the popular Chase Sapphire Lounge Boston also available, conveniently located in the connector between Terminal B and Terminal C.
Regarding terminal configuration, note that Terminal B, Terminal C, and Terminal E are all linked airside, while Terminal A is not. Terminal A mainly serves Delta, making this most beneficial for those flying with other airlines (though Delta’s international flights depart from Terminal E, allowing those passengers to utilize this lounge).
Details of the Amex Centurion Lounge Boston
The new Amex Centurion Lounge Boston Logan is anticipated to span approximately 20,000 square feet, ranking it among the largest lounges in the Centurion Lounge network. The lounge will have two levels and will be situated in Terminal C, close to gate C10.
It will include a grass and plant adorned “green roof,” alongside a rooftop bar and patio (though it may have a rather limited operational season in the Northeast!). Specific details regarding other expected features of the lounge are scarce, but Amex tends to maintain consistent quality in terms of food, beverages, and amenities.
However, if the illustrations are accurate, it appears Amex is pursuing a refreshed design concept, as it seems somewhat different from the standard Centurion Lounges. I particularly like these modifications!
Bottom line
An Amex Centurion Lounge is set for Boston Logan Airport, although the timeline has unfortunately shifted. While it was initially slated to open in 2027, it is now expected to debut in 2029 at the earliest. The lounge will be two stories and quite expansive, potentially making it one of the superior lounges in the network. It’s always encouraging to see more lounge space added, given the unyielding demand for lounge access among travelers.
