If you possess the Amex Platinum Card or Amex Gold Card (and consequently, have a Resy restaurant credit), there’s plenty to be thrilled about, as the options for obtaining a statement credit for dining experiences are about to increase significantly.
## Amex Resy credits become increasingly advantageous
Amex acquired the dining service Resy in 2019, followed by the acquisition of Tock in 2024, aiming to merge the two platforms. This summer we’ve witnessed Tock’s integration into Resy, which will have even greater implications for cardholders.
Starting September 15, 2026, Amex’s Resy credits will extend to encompass select Tock restaurants. Cardholders must ensure that their card is registered for the Resy credit benefit and confirm that the venue displays the “Resy Credit eligible” badge on their page.
The intention is for more Tock restaurants to qualify for the Resy credit as time progresses and over the upcoming months.
Weeks ago, many were worried when Amex modified the conditions of the Resy credit benefit, indicating that moving forward, restaurants “must be indicated as eligible for the Resy Credit on the Resy website or the Resy app at the time of purchase to qualify for the benefit.”
There were concerns that only a limited number of Resy restaurants would be eligible for this credit, but it appears this alteration was meant to facilitate the Tock integration into Resy. Hence, it’s genuinely encouraging news.

## This is great news for Amex cardholders
The Amex Platinum Card saw a refresh in late 2025, and while the annual fee rose, several new benefits were introduced. The enhancement of the up to $400 annual Resy credit makes this card even more appealing.
With the up to $400 annual Resy credit coupled with the up to $600 annual hotel credit, in my view, the card’s annual fee is thoroughly justified. This was one of the few premium card updates where I would argue that the value proposition has genuinely improved.
