Cathay Pacific Unveils New Premier First Class Lounge, The Wing
Cathay Pacific has consistently been acknowledged for its outstanding lounge experiences, and the recent introduction of the newly revamped The Wing First Class Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) solidifies this standing. Scheduled to reopen on April 22, 2026, following a comprehensive makeover, The Wing is set to be Cathay Pacific’s premier lounge, featuring a mix of modern design and home-like comfort.

The renovation, in partnership with London-based StudioIlse, brings forth a seamless combination of materials, such as green onyx, walnut wood, and granite, embodying both contemporary style and traditional Chinese architectural elements. The lounge includes several unique areas tailored to enhance the traveler experience:

1. **The Atrium**: A bright, relaxed dining area with a menu that changes throughout the day, along with a self-serve Pantry that provides light snacks.
2. **The Dining Room**: Features a sophisticated dining experience with a la carte table service presenting Asian and international cuisines.
3. **The Retreat**: A newly introduced space with private booths for spa services, inspired by The Pier Lounge.
4. **The Alcove**: Versatile booths designed with tables and charging stations for comfort and privacy.
5. **The Bureau**: Fully enclosed workspaces ensuring privacy while conducting business.
6. **Shower Suites**: Newly designed spaces, although the famous Cabanas have been replaced.

Despite the lounge’s impressive design and facilities, access will be initially limited. In the early stages, only Cathay Pacific first class passengers and Diamond members will have entry, while other oneworld first class passengers and Emerald members will be directed to The Pier or alternative lounges.

In conclusion, Cathay Pacific’s The Wing First Class Lounge promises a superior experience, although access restrictions may initially let down some travelers. The airline’s dedication to elevating lounge standards is clear in this remarkable renovation.
