# **HoneyTrek’s 2023 Travel Year in Reflection: A Voyage Across Continents**

2023 might just be HoneyTrek’s most thrilling year to date! From journeys across North America to delving into the cultural and natural marvels of Europe, Africa, and beyond, this year was brimming with memorable adventures. Covering 26 U.S. states, 7 Canadian provinces, and 10 other countries, HoneyTrek’s travels encompassed over 20,209 miles. Throughout their journey, they embraced eco-friendly travel, volunteered in various communities, and donated $4,250 to local nonprofits.

## **Discovering North America: Road Trips, Mountain Escapades, and Coastal Experiences**
### **Baja, Mexico by Sea**
After previously road-tripping through Baja, HoneyTrek set sail with UnCruise Adventures for an unforgettable expedition through the Gulf of California Islands. This UNESCO Biosphere Reserve provided stunning adventures, including kayaking, snorkeling, whale-watching, and hiking.

### **Southern Border Expedition**
Prior to their European adventure, HoneyTrek set out on a road trip along the southern U.S. border, discovering Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Highlights included birdwatching in Arizona, hiking at Chiricahua National Monument, and kayaking in Big Bend National Park.

### **Journey Across Canada**
Their two-month adventure across Canada included visits to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Newfoundland, with its rich culture and breathtaking scenery, was particularly memorable.

### **Saskatchewan: A Hidden Jewel**
Frequently underrated, Saskatchewan amazed HoneyTrek with its varied landscapes, from boreal forests to the endangered Grasslands ecosystem. Their road trip revealed hidden gems, including dinosaur fossils and lively artistic towns.

### **Glacier Country, Montana**
Montana’s expansive wilderness, which includes Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake, provided an ideal blend of adventure and leisure. HoneyTrek explored the local businesses and indigenous heritage, making it a favorite stop on their travels.

Traversing Nevada’s Highway 50, known as “The Loneliest Road in America,” was an exhilarating journey filled with historic towns, hot springs, and breathtaking desert vistas. This historical route, once part of the Pony Express and Lincoln Highway, was an essential road trip experience.

A travel conference led HoneyTrek to Berlin, where they spent two weeks immersing themselves in the city’s vibrant culture. Their travels continued through Prague, Český Krumlov, Bratislava, and Vienna, featuring a combination of history, architecture, and local interactions.

### **Skiing in Bulgaria & Road Trip through Transylvania**
Bulgaria’s economical ski resorts and rich history provided an exhilarating winter trip. In Romania, HoneyTrek explored Bucharest, visited Dracula’s Castle, and journeyed through Transylvania, uncovering its Saxon villages and medieval allure.

### **Greece’s Eco-Friendly Dodecanese Islands**
Greece’s Dodecanese Islands are pioneering sustainability, with places like Astypalea and Tilos fully adopting renewable energy and eco-tourism. HoneyTrek dedicated three weeks to exploring Rhodes, Chalki, and Karpathos, participating in cultural and environmental projects.
