Bilt is preparing to unveil three new credit cards in collaboration with Cardless, following the conclusion of its partnership with Wells Fargo. Pre-orders for these cards will commence on January 14, 2026, with an official launch scheduled for February 7, 2026. Emphasis will be placed on the rewards for rent payments, a crucial value proposition for Bilt.
Speculation indicates that the new card series features the Bilt Blue Card, Bilt Obsidian Card, and Bilt Palladium Card, each presenting varying fees and advantages. The Bilt Blue Card boasts no annual fee and provides 4% Bilt Cash on regular purchases and 1X points on rent, mortgage, and everyday spending. The Bilt Obsidian Card, which carries a $95 annual fee, offers 4% Bilt Cash on daily expenditures, 3X points on dining or grocery shopping, 2X points on travel, and 1X points on rent, mortgage, and everyday spending. The Bilt Palladium Card, with a $495 annual fee, delivers 4% Bilt Cash on everyday expenditures, 2X points on general spending, and 1X points on rent and mortgage.
The cards are said to permit the use of Bilt Cash to offset rent and mortgage transaction fees. Nonetheless, additional versions with distinct names and features are rumored, hinting at possible changes in the final offerings.
The former Bilt and Wells Fargo collaboration was profitable for consumers but not for Wells Fargo due to the rewards system. The new cards intend to strike a balance between rewarding rent payments and ensuring economic viability. Users may need to spend a considerable portion of their rent on the card to offset transaction fees, potentially complicating the rewards structure but still remaining beneficial.
As the launch date nears, specific details remain uncertain, but the goal will be to uphold a competitive advantage while ensuring profitability.
