Lyft has made its On-Time Pickup Promise a permanent feature, offering credits to riders for delays – The Points Guy

The U.S. airlines anticipate 271 million travelers between June 1 and Aug. 31, making this summer travel season a record-breaking one, per Airlines for America.

Lyft has consistently focused on ensuring passengers reach their destinations on time.

Launched initially as a holiday travel promotion, Lyft’s On-Time Pickup Promise has now become a permanent feature for riders starting this summer, ensuring compensation if your ride isn’t on time.

On-Time Pickup Promise

LYFT

Starting Wednesday, Lyft’s On-Time Pickup Promise will apply to prearranged airport rides, guaranteeing punctual pickup or providing compensation if the ride is late.

Users can book Lyft rides as far as 30 days ahead, allowing them to secure their pickup date, time, and price, thus eliminating one more concern. These scheduled rides receive priority during driver matching, and drivers have the flexibility to accept these rides anytime post-scheduling. Pre-arranged rides can be altered or canceled up to an hour before the specified pickup time.

If your scheduled airport Lyft ride is not picked up on time, you will automatically be credited with Lyft Cash in your account as follows:

  • $15 Lyft Cash is provided if your driver is over 10 minutes late (reduced from $20 originally).
  • Receive $50 in Lyft Cash if you are not paired with a driver within 10 minutes of your scheduled pickup time.
  • Receive an additional $50 in Lyft Cash if no driver is available for you and you have to use another company, provided that your ride costs more than $50.

The initial two payments will be processed automatically, but you need to reach out to Lyft via the help section in its app and provide the receipt from your alternative transportation to claim the extra $50.

The On-Time Pickup Promise from Lyft is now offered in over 50 markets across North America, including:

Extra Comfort mode

LYFT

Lyft’s Extra Comfort option helps passengers unwind and feel at ease as soon as they enter their vehicle. The “Extra Comfort” rides provide more spacious cars, highly rated drivers, and preset preferences for temperature, a quiet ride, or help with luggage.

These features come after the successful introduction of Lyft’s Women+ Connect, a service that pairs women and nonbinary riders with drivers in specific cities.

Just a friendly reminder, multiple credit cards provide extra points, miles, or cashback for Uber and Lyft trips when you use them for booking rides, such as:
