Back in 2019, the announcement was made for a thrilling new Park Hyatt resort set to debut in Vietnam. The property has faced significant delays beyond its intended 2022 opening. However, there’s finally encouraging news, as the hotel has begun accepting bookings… only time will tell if this timeline holds true (thanks to Christophe for pointing this out).

Fundamentals of the new Park Hyatt Phu Quoc, Vietnam
The Park Hyatt Phu Quoc is now open for bookings for stays starting March 1, 2027. The delays associated with this property have been extensive, so it will be fascinating to see if this schedule is upheld or if we face additional postponements.
For those unfamiliar with Phu Quoc, it is Vietnam’s largest island, with half of it designated as a national park and a UNESCO site. The Park Hyatt Phu Quoc is anticipated to offer a total of 168 accommodations, including 114 rooms and suites, plus 54 private pool villas. This marks Park Hyatt’s inaugural resort in Vietnam, and its second property in the country, following the Park Hyatt Saigon.
The resort is situated on the southwestern edge of Phu Quoc Island, developed over 160 acres of land, bordered by a mile-long stretch of white sand beach on one side and verdant hills on the other. The Park Hyatt is a 30-minute drive from Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC).
Details about the property are somewhat scarce, but here are a few things we do know:
– Regarding accommodations, the entry-level rooms measure 861 square feet (80 square meters), suites begin at 1,776 square feet (165 square meters), and villas start at 3,013 square feet (280 square meters); while I suspect these measurements encompass outdoor space, they are impressively large.
– The resort boasts a variety of dining venues, including Fisherman’s (offering a Vietnamese seafood experience), Pepper Grill (an open fire cooking restaurant), Herbs & Spices (serving Vietnamese comfort food), La Maisonette (offering Vietnamese cuisine with a French twist), Pool House & Bar (serving Italian dishes), the Living Room (the lobby bar), and more.
– The property includes two swimming pools, a lakeside spa, a fitness center with a lap pool, a kids club, event spaces, and additional amenities.
– The Park Hyatt Phu Quoc also features The Manor, an eight-bedroom beachfront villa designed for up to 24 guests; this is priced at $25,000+ per night.

I estimate the value of World of Hyatt points to be around 1.5 cents each, placing the “cost” of a redemption at $375-825 per night.
