**Plaza Premium First Lounge Arriving at DFW (and More)!**
On Monday, March 9, 2026, Plaza Premium is set to launch two lounges at DFW Airport Terminal D. The lounges will be positioned near gate D15, featuring both a standard Plaza Premium Lounge (operating daily from 7AM to 11PM) and a Plaza Premium First Lounge (available daily from 7AM to 10PM).
Plaza Premium’s lounge amenities rank among the finest “contract” lounges you’ll encounter. The standard Plaza Premium Lounge will offer all the amenities you might anticipate, such as a buffet, open bar, and more. Conversely, Plaza Premium First represents the operator’s high-end lounge model, typically featuring more upscale decor, à la carte dining, barista coffee, bartender-crafted cocktails, and additional offerings.
The standard Plaza Premium Lounge is expected to be accessible with Priority Pass and/or the Amex Platinum. In contrast, access to the Plaza Premium First Lounge will require a $45 co-pay for guests with entry to the standard Plaza Premium Lounge. The Plaza Premium First Lounge will also serve as a contract lounge for travelers flying in first or business class on Air France, EVA Air, Finnair, Emirates, and Turkish Airlines.
This will mark the inaugural Plaza Premium First Lounge in the United States, which is quite exciting. The sole other location in North America is in Vancouver (YVR), which recently opened. Additionally, one is anticipated for New York (JFK), scheduled to debut later this year in the new Terminal One.
Notably, Plaza Premium’s very first lounge in the U.S. is also at DFW (located in Terminal E), which launched in 2020. However, at only 1,400 square feet, it ranks among the tiniest airport lounges to be found in the U.S.
**DFW Terminal D is Transforming into a Lounge Powerhouse**
One can’t help but admire how Terminal D at DFW is evolving into a lounge powerhouse. On the credit card side, the terminal features an Amex Centurion Lounge, a Capital One Lounge, and soon a Chase Sapphire Lounge will join the lineup. Add to that an American Flagship Lounge and American Admirals Club, plus The Club at DFW. Now, it will also welcome a Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium First Lounge.
That’s an exceptionally impressive lounge presence, and it’s hard to think of many airport terminals in the U.S. boasting such an outstanding array of lounges. Perhaps New York (JFK) Terminal 4 and Los Angeles (LAX) Tom Bradley International Terminal could compete? But even that’s debatable…
**Bottom Line**
On March 9, 2026, lounge operator Plaza Premium is introducing two new facilities in DFW Terminal D, including the nation’s first Plaza Premium First Lounge. It’s delightful to see Terminal D expand its lounge offerings, not that there was a lack of lounges to begin with.
Plaza Premium First Lounges are exceptional, so it’s great to see one added to the mix. Admittedly, the $45 co-pay is considerable, but perhaps that will help mitigate lounge crowding, at least during times when the lounge isn’t utilized as a contract facility?
