We resided in New Jersey for 11 years, but after this 7-day road trip, we realized how much we had overlooked. Known as the Garden State, it offers a wealth of outdoor recreational activities, including 130 miles of coastline, 12 national park sites, and the very first national reserve. It’s the sole state in the US where all counties are deemed metropolitan, ensuring you’re never short of fine dining, cultural events, and activities.

And did we mention it’s the Diner Capital of the World? Expect some delightful meals! Too often, folks judge New Jersey by what they see from the turnpike…but take to the backroads, follow our travel guide below, and you’ll discover that a New Jersey Road Trip is brimming with amazing and surprising experiences.

Did you know that Orlando is the most-visited vacation spot in America? People, a Florida road trip offers much more than theme parks! More freshwater springs than anywhere else worldwide, the unique Everglades, the oldest European city in the U.S., a rich mix of cultures from around the world, and sunny beach weather when most of the States are dealing with snow…why wouldn’t we spend our winter here? We dedicated a month to road trip through the Sunshine State, from the southernmost point to the northwestern border, uncovering places even more enchanting than Disney.

After 3.5 years and 74,000 miles of exploring North America, we’ve finally hit our 50th State! We began this incredible USA road trip in April 2017, traveling everywhere from the Arctic Circle to the Florida Keys, and have now reached the Great Lakes state of Wisconsin! With Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, and 15,000 other lakes scattered throughout WI, they are celebrated for their freshwater activities, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

They host an International Dark Sky Park, ancient rock formations millions of years old, a 1,200-mile hiking trail, IMBA-rated mountain biking, and more fruit and veggie farms than any vegan could wish for. To celebrate our 50th-state milestone, we went grand and teamed up with Travel Wisconsin for a 1,300-mile, two-week road trip around the state—during peak fall foliage, no less! We had an absolute blast and are thrilled to share our must-see stops for the ultimate Wisconsin road trip.

Tennessee! This state not only features The Great Smoky Mountains, their renowned whiskey, and the home of country music, blues, & rock n’ roll, but it’s also where the majority of Anne’s family resides! With aunts, uncles, and cousins on one side of the state and our siblings and nieces on the other, this called for a cross-state road trip! Tennessee offers 16 self-guided driving routes connecting 95 counties, plus [Tennessee Music Pathways](https://www.tnvacation.com/tennessee-music-pathways), which highlight the state’s music history and legends. With ample inspiration for our journey, we zigzagged from Knoxville to Memphis and uncovered numerous delightful off-the-beaten-path spots.

During our 10-day Tennessee road trip, we were amazed at the number of historic small towns reviving their spirit. From the once-booming mining town of Monterey to the college town of Cookeville, locals shared stories about the recent wave of creative individuals and trendy businesses revitalizing their quiet cities. Tennessee seems to foster and attract artistic souls, and its towns are eager to showcase their talent. We came across countless festivals, art workshops, free concerts, and community events that endeared us to these towns even more.

Explore our favorite activities throughout the state and begin planning your own Tennessee road trip! ➡️READ MORE about this [Tennessee Road Trip](https://www.honeytrek.com/tennessee-road-trip/)
