Royal Air Maroc is poised to enhance its transatlantic offerings by introducing a new flight route to Los Angeles (LAX) from Casablanca (CMN) commencing June 7, 2026. This new connection will run three times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, employing Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The flight itinerary is as follows: AT250 will take off from Casablanca at 4:00 AM and reach Los Angeles at 8:20 AM, whereas AT251 will depart Los Angeles at 10:20 AM, landing in Casablanca at 5:25 AM the following day. The distance covered is 5,990 miles, with a travel time of 12 hours and 20 minutes westbound and 11 hours and 5 minutes eastbound.
This move is pivotal for Los Angeles International Airport, as it will restore its membership in the prestigious “six continent club,” providing nonstop passenger service to all six continents. The initiation of this route is well-timed, coinciding with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and fits within Royal Air Maroc’s strategic growth in the United States, where it currently operates flights to Miami, New York, and Washington, D.C.
Royal Air Maroc’s fleet consists of five Boeing 787-8s and six 787-9s. The airline’s cost-effective model, owing to Morocco’s favorable labor expenses, positions it advantageously to leverage the anticipated demand for one-stop connections to various African and European destinations through Casablanca. As the carrier continues to pursue fleet growth, the performance of this new route could impact future expansion and service initiatives.
