The Resort at Kapalua Bay in Maui Will Become Part of Marriott and Rebrand as St. Regis in 2027
The St. Regis brand is making a significant comeback in Hawaii with the transformation of the Resort at Kapalua Bay into a St. Regis establishment. Marriott International has entered into a partnership with Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners to oversee this opulent resort, situated on Maui’s northwest shoreline. Previously managed by Montage, the property encompasses 25 acres of beachfront land and boasts 146 multi-bedroom residences with ocean views. These lodgings vary from two to four bedrooms, with sizes ranging from 1,774 to 4,050 square feet.

Marriott commenced its management of the resort on March 14, 2026, though it has not yet been integrated into a specific Marriott brand. The resort will be undergoing renovations while remaining open, with intentions to officially become part of the St. Regis collection in 2027. This action signifies the return of the St. Regis brand to Hawaii, following the rebranding of the prior St. Regis Princeville Resort in 2022.

Guests can enjoy an array of amenities, including a 40,000 square foot spa, various outdoor pools, and access to a championship golf course and tennis courts. Current rates begin at around $2,500 per night, which includes a $185 resort fee. Although it is not yet included in Marriott’s luxury collection, the resort is bookable through Marriott STARS, offering benefits like hotel credits and breakfast.

This development is viewed positively, as it entails property upgrades and the introduction of loyalty program advantages. The evolution of the Resort at Kapalua Bay mirrors the adjustments at the Resort at Pelican Hill, which is also becoming a St. Regis property. This strategic initiative by Marriott amplifies its luxury offerings in Hawaii and opens new avenues for loyalty program participants.
