Aerolineas Argentinas Secures A330neos Showcasing Enhanced Business Class and Wi-Fi

Aerolineas Argentinas, part of SkyTeam, has undergone a remarkable transformation following years of financial woes. Being government-owned since 2008, the airline announced its first profit in decades in 2024, achieving an operating profit of $56.6 million. This encouraging financial trend is expected to persist, with profits predicted to double in 2025. The airline’s strengthened financial situation has allowed it to strategize a significant investment without dependency on government support.

The investment entails the procurement of 18 new aircraft, which include four Airbus A330-900s and 14 Boeing 737 MAXs, comprising two 737 MAX 8s, four 737 MAX 9s, and eight 737 MAX 10s. This fleet augmentation seeks to refresh Aerolineas Argentinas’ current fleet of approximately 80 aircraft, which presently consists of Airbus A330s, Boeing 737s, and Embraer E190s.

Alongside fleet expansion, Aerolineas Argentinas is allocating $65 million to improve the passenger experience. This initiative involves retrofitting the interiors of its Airbus A330s with a new business class offering, with the goal of standardizing the passenger experience across its A330-200s and A330-900neos. The airline also intends to implement Wi-Fi throughout its fleet by 2027, commencing with the A330s, followed by the 737s and E190s.

These advancements signify a major shift for Aerolineas Argentinas, as the airline prioritizes service enhancement and operational modernization. Although some specifics remain unclear, such as the schedule for aircraft delivery and Wi-Fi service provider collaborations, the airline’s dedication to improving its services is a hopeful indication for its future.
